SAFETY AWARENESS AND RISK ASSESSMENT COURSE (SARA) 1 DAY
This course is to be held on February 13th 2019 in Central London
Course Objectives:
To ensure your understanding of the operative and legal importance and relevance of Health and Safety, in the audiovisual industry including the legislative process.
Course Delivery:
Your training will involve interactive scenarios designed to reflect the very real issues and unexpected safety situations you are likely to encounter on location.
Module 1 – Production Responsibilities
An overview of the legislative issues surrounding Health and Safety. this will include current health and safety law, criminal prosecution, civil law and the responsibilities of employers and employees.
Module 2 – Accident Reporting
The legal requirements of Accident or Near Miss reporting including an overview of Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences (RIDDOR) regulations and the responsibilities of employees and employers in the event of an accident.
Module 3 – Risk Assessment Part 1
The theory behind the why and the how of risk assessment explained, including the legal requirements. You will be introduced to risk management processes used to identify hazards, risk assessment (based on severity and likelihood) and the controls, precautions and emergency procedures that need to be in place.
Module 4 – Risk Assessment Part 2
The legal requirements of conducting a risk assessment including Hazard Perception How to identify and list hazards as a first step in capable risk assessment. This module deals with contractors and the multiple environments encountered during filming and how to identify and deal with obstacles on location.
Course Outcome:
You will receive a certificate of competence upon successful demonstration of sufficient knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety within the audiovisual industry.
